    Developed, from start to finish, complex programs on multiple platforms in the GlobalFares, Hotels, and Booking File applications of the Apollo and Galileo airline reservation systems.
    • Achieved lower licensing fees, higher accuracy, and faster response times by implementing Next Generation GlobalFares, a new, first-in-class, UNIX-based airline fares engine to replace FQS and IFQ, the 70's technology TPF Assembler-based system. As a key contributor to the four year project: 1) Designed and developed applications in C++ to convert GlobalFares legacy data records to NGGF Query format, enabling NGGF to perform independently. 2) Developed phased implementation strategy, resulting in easier implementations, more beta-test opportunities, and less customer risk during cut-over. 3) Improved testing by expanding the use of a popular test tool, and by providing a method of capturing multiple NGGF Queries in GlobalFares.
    • Provided C expertise to the Hotels group while on temporary assignment. Increased functional knowledge, "represented GlobalFares in a professional manner," and won a GRP award.
    • Increased employee productivity by mentoring in TPF, GlobalFares, and Galileo. Lead to recognition as an expert in the Galileo and PrivateFares applications.
    • Led team of developers on a project to increase the number of Galileo guaranteed fare quotes. Worked with multiple groups, mostly overseas, to provide enhanced booking date information to GlobalFares. Despite challenges posed by changing requirements and delays, earned a STARs award for project ownership.
    • Volunteered for a two-year assignment in Swindon, England, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to the creation of a new airline reservation system. Teamed with associates from throughout Europe to implement Galileo, a new system designed for the European market.
